Safe Travels

Okay, I know this has nothing to do with health, per se, but I have to share.
This morning as I was driving to work I witnessed a nasty car accident. It was clearly a case of someone not being aware.

A car in the right lane moved to the exit lane - either without checking their mirror or making a quick check over their shoulder. Maybe they were on the phone, drinking coffee, who knows .. but they weren't paying attention. The poor fellow already in the exit lane had no where to go. He tried to avoid trouble - but that other driver who first seemed to back off, moved right back into the exit lane. While he managed to escape trouble, the poor other fellow smashed into the guardrail. His car sustained tremondous damage. As I drove by it appeared he escaped injury.

I was in no position to stop and check as I was busy trying to avoid car parts flying off the damaged vehicle. But I did call police and alert them to the accident.

So please - be aware. We all have momentary lapses. But when you change lanes, take a moment to look over your shoulder: pause your phone conversation, put down your coffee. With the snow expected, driving will be even more dicey. Take your time and get there safe. There are plenty of other, wonderful ways, to get news coverage.
