Way to go

Just a quick update .. FABULOUS turnout at the Teal Ribbon Run for Ovarian Cancer .. more than 800 people and they raised just over 100,000 dollars . .the biggest and best yet!

If anyone was at the event for PKD .. please let me know and I'll post that, too .. great group of people - the organizers, supporters and participants in all these events .. making our community better - ideally, helping to improve and save lives!

This was my first Teal Walk/Run event. A year ago today I was Diagnosed with OVCA. I researched the symptoms and "just knew" what was going on with my body. It took me 3 months (relatively short compared to the long struggles most women have getting a correct diagnosis) to get the CT Scan that comfirmed my suspecion of OVCA and not IBS. It wasn't until a gyn-oncologist saw me that I was finally listened to. But by then the cancer cells has spread and I was Stage III-C. I finished my 1st round of chemotherapy 8 months ago. I say "1st round" because the odds are I will be fighting this battle again..and again as I've seen way too many women do. That is way the efforts put forth by you, the volunteers,runners and walkers that raise this money means so much to the Ovarian Cancer Survivor. Research is essential to our survival and I thank you so very,very much.
